China’s economic output will surpass 170 trillion yuan (approximately USD 23.8 trillion) by 2030, according to predictions made at the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
This ambitious target has inspired optimism among foreign envoys, including those from Bangladesh, who recognize opportunities for shared prosperity.
A report published by China Daily on November 11 highlighted that the CPC’s recommendations for the 15th Five-Year Plan prioritize high-quality development, technological innovation, and “small but beautiful” Belt and Road projects.
Bangladesh’s Ambassador to China, Nazmul Islam, emphasized that Dhaka was the first South Asian country to sign a Belt and Road cooperation document with Beijing.
“Bangladesh is the first country in South Asia to sign a Belt and Road cooperation document with China, and we look forward to sharing in China’s development opportunities, which will further promote the prosperity and growth of the Global South, including Bangladesh,” Islam said, adding that Bangladesh looks forward to sharing in China’s modernization drive, particularly through targeted Belt and Road projects that can boost connectivity and trade.
The envoy stressed that China’s growth trajectory offers lessons for the Global South, and Bangladesh intends to learn from China’s development experience to strengthen its own path.
Russian Ambassador Igor Morgulov described the 15th Five-Year Plan as politically significant, noting Russia’s intention to align its strategies with China for deeper cooperation.
Liu Haixing, head of the CPC’s International Department, projected that China’s economy could expand by 30 trillion yuan in just five years, underscoring the country’s commitment to openness, innovation, and integration with international trade rules.
